The Course:
In this course, we’ll be focusing on the entire process of going from wire to finished chainmail.
You’ll learn how to make a simple jig that will allow you to make repeatable coils of wire which can be cut to form the “jump” rings used to weave the chainmail.
After learning the process for making your own, you will get a hands on demonstration of the weaving process, as well as, best practices for making the process more simple.
You will be spending the vast majority of the class making your desired product. There are three options to choose from, which all use the same techniques from this class:
1. Chainmail Hand Armor, which loops around the middle finger and latches around the wrist like a bracelet.
2. Chainmail Choker, which is a tighter necklace that can have a customized look, according to your style
3. A Rectangular Section of Chainmail, which can be the start to your chainmail shirt, headgear, gorget, etc.
This is the first course in the series and would be a prerequisite for future classes pertaining to more advanced topics.
Important Information:
When ordering choose the option you want to make during the class
Sections are run in an hour and thirty minute sessions
Sections consist of 30 minutes of instruction and 1 hour of guided chainmail making
If you run over time you may continue making your chainmail
