“The Second Sunrise”

The Avarice Isles, a tropical island chain stuck between two great continents on the world of Iyld, is notorious for its violent seas, monstrous wildlife, and lawless society consumed by greed and selfishness. Sunrise, the largest settlement and center of the region's civilization, is governed by the Zenith Council, a collection of aristocratic oligarchs who are stuck in a perpetual power struggle to emerge as the city's sovereign ruler. In a place where the downtrodden are kept firmly in their place and the wealthy elite vie for power and influence, capable adventurers are a hot commodity. Something stirs in the dark corners of the everyday turbulence and disorder however. Nobility of far away places have gone missing, tales surrounding a mysterious ship with black sails have gained traction, and talk of a mythical treasure said to bring about a perfect world has reached the ears of many across Iyld. For reasons of your own, you find yourself heading for Sunrise, where you and the other players will embark on a journey as chaotic as the seas, encountering life threatening situations, mighty foes, and an ancient evil that threatens to destroy everything you hold dear. Will you become heroes who save the world, misfits looking to carve out their own destinies, or the newest tyrants in a place consumed by them?

All players are welcome regardless of your experience level with 2024 D&D Fifth Edition. Your first session will be used to craft characters, explain the setting in more detail, and thrust you into the campaign as a new companion of the current players. I will use the base 5E Player's Handbook for those of you who are curious, but I am open to homebrew / unofficial rules so long as they are fairly balanced. Backstories will be yours for the most part, but I will provide you with a Campaign Specific Bond that will tie you into the narrative that I have constructed. Some are more fleshed out than others and we can go through them in person. If you have any questions feel free to reach out on Discord as I am fairly active on the store’s channel. Looking forward to having you there.

What players should bring

Bring a set of standard DnD Dice, including a d20. A dice tray is optional but encouraged.

If creating a player character(PC), please use the 2024 5e rules, and when rolling attributes, use either standard array or point buy. You may choose starting equipment or gold.

If players want to come with a created PC it’s up to the DM if they can run that character or if features need to be adjusted.

If you are not creating a PC please arrive early and with a character idea in mind. The DM will be able to help you turn this into a character.
